Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area Child Care provides financial assistance for child care to over 2,500 families in the 9 counties of Rural Capital Area - Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, and Williamson. Financial aid helps many parents keep their jobs as they work to improve their lives and the lives of their children. Financial Aid is limited and not everyone who qualifies for financial aid will be able to get it right away. Frequently, we have to place families on a wait list. We encourage you to place your name on the wait list and at the same time seek other resources for low cost child care.
In order for us to assist you, you will need the following information:
. Birth certificates for all children needing care.
. Employment information for all household members including name, address, and phone number of the employer, work hours/days, rate of pay, how often paid
. Training information for all household members including name, address, and phone number of the school, days per week, current enrollment hours, credit hours if college institution, total hours completed, and anticipated graduation date.
. Amount of household income received from other sources. All income includes but not limited to: Wages, salaries, commissions, tips, piece-rate payments, cash bonuses, overtime wages, child support, pensions, annuities, life insurance, retirement income, early withdraws from 401(K), taxable capital gains, dividends, and interest, rental income, public assistance payments, income from estate and trust funds, unemployment compensation, workers' compensation income, spousal maintenance or alimony, court settlements or judgments, lottery payments of $600 or greater.
. (Child Care financial assistance requires proof that you have applied for child support through the Attorney General's Office)
. Child care information including name, address, phone number, city, and zip code of a licensed or registered child care provider or listed relative provider.
If your family meets eligibility requirements, and if Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area Child Care has funds available, we may pay a portion of your family's child care costs. You will be responsible for a co-payment based on the family's income. Because funds are limited, the parent(s) in each family must be employed, in school, or in vocational or technical training. If your family meets all requirements for assistance, but assistance is not available due to limited funds, the family will be put on the wait list for assistance. If you are placed on the wait list, it is extremely important that you keep Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area Child Care informed of any changes in address, phone number, or family circumstance.
Several links to information on child care including child care searches, and information on quality child care have been included to assist you.
